I know this is almost a year old but thank you so much for giving a diagnosis to this problem, I've had this problem for ever and everyone is clueless (not their fault) about why it happens. So if something's not crafting, check for quest items.

So if something's not crafting, check for quest items. i have a mod that makes me able to craft legendaries with legendary modules which are crafted from 50 legendary scrips each and are really hard to find, i want to remove that mod but i dont know which one it is, i also dont know how to share my mod list, do i need to manually write each mod name or what im using Vortex. Then afterwards you could do tav 'skill' -50 to subtract 50 points of you were originally at 50 or whatever. In component view (default C), the quest item 'FLе…ѓ Turbopump Bearings' shows as being able to scrap to aluminum, the problem being that I need it for the quest, even though it hasn't shown up on my log yet: It showed having all checked out, but it would not craft: I was trying to put a suppressor on my submachine gun while doing the 'Last Voyage of the U.S.S. Quest items which are categorized as 'junk' will still show up on the materials counter, but not allow themselves to be scrapped in crafting, even if they don't appear on the quest log yet. It has to do with quest items that are junk, which count toward the material counter but can't be scrapped.
